Guiding clinicians to do better

Antimicrobial stewardship aims to assist and educate healthcare practitioners in giving judicious antimicrobial treatment to patients, preventing overuse of antibiotics, and slowing down the development of antimicrobial resistance. One of its main principles is to facilitate a rapid and specific therapy based on an accurate diagnosis.

Sepsis

When acting fast is essential

Antimicrobial Resistance is a major factor determining clinical unresponsiveness to treatment and rapid evolution to sepsis and shock. Sepsis – a life-threatening condition associated with 20% of all deaths worldwide – occurs when the body’s response to an infection damages its own tissues. The keys to patient survival are a prompt diagnosis and empirical antibiotic treatment, to eradicate the microbe that causes sepsis, reduce the risk of shock and multi-organ failure, and decrease the mortality rate.

Microbiology on the verge of 4.0 era

Process automatization is happening everywhere, and even more is digitalization and artificial intelligence implementation. Microbiology isn’t different and we feel to have a prominent role in this evolution: we work on this for years, and we never stop to imagine and push boundaries.

Let’s hear the voices of professionals that were, and are right now, choosing our solutions and accepted to give feedback about how meaningful is automation for their laboratories.

Our approach

As we perceive preanalytics as a single field made of an endless weave of processes that depend from eachother, we approached it the “WISE” way: we started with swabs which perform the best with liquid media, we then formulated a huge variety of media to address any specific need that came up; over this we built an ecosystem of robotics and software that begins at the inoculation phase and ends at the auto-release of results. Every step gaining more and more strenght from the undeniable superior-grade performance of the preceding one.

A more-than-total vision

Our clinical bacteriology ecosystem enables a 24/7 processing and culture schedule. AI interpretative algorithms allow technologists to review images in batch mode for a more efficient release of significant cultures, also allowing interpretation of plates and antibiotic sensitivity results in a flash.
